There are only 16,723 orginal miles on this car!! It may be one of only a few, if not the only one, with such low mileage and no restoration!!
These are pictures of the vehicle my father was most proud of…..a 1971 Mercedes Benz 300 SEL 6.3. He is the second owner of this vehicle which he purchased in September of 1972 from Prestige Motors in New Jersey. It had 5383 miles on it when he bought it and in the 30 years that he owned this car, my father only put an additional 11000 miles on it. The odometer reads 16723 original miles. There has been no restoration on this car. It has been meticulously maintained and it has been serviced by the same technician for the 30 years my father has owned this car. This vehicle has NEVER, NEVER seen the rain or the snow!!
My father passed away in January of 2003 and I was given this car by him. As much as I would love to keep this classic Mercedes Benz, I cannot do justice to this beautiful vehicle. This vehicle is SPECIAL and really needs someone with the means to care for it as it should be and the ability to appreciate its very unique qualities. It has been stored in a heated garage and I have had it inspected by the same technician my father used. I would love to see this car go into a museum or someone's collection so that it could be appreciated for the RARE wonderful vehicle that it is and the vehicle that my dad loved! I don't know if there is another 300 SEL 6.3 with this few miles or if this may be the ONLY ONE of these classics with so few miles, in the world. I would appreciate your input if anyone has information on how to value this rare low mileage vintage car. Any information that anyone has on selling a car of this class would also be extremely helpful to me. I live in western PA and if you have any questions I will try to answer them, but I am not the expert….that was my dad. I took the following pictures today, March 31, 2005. I wanted to take some pictures outside of the garage so that you could really see the beauty of the car in outside light. It really shines and would make my father proud!! I am hoping that someone will see and appreciate the true value of this vehicle and the condition that it is in and the care that it has been given. I have been told by the Mercedes Benz Museum in Stuttgart, Germany that they do not know of any other vehicle in the world with these few miles, in this condition…quite a compliment to my dad.
